Hey, just wanted to put you up on the new project from A.I. Love You entitled "The Lonely Hearts Club." As always they're pushing the envelope musically and extending the reach of their genre "electric-hop." The Anti-Valentine's Day campaign by this tandem deals with all kinds of V-day issues; from letters from a dyslexic ex-lover to Cupid falling in love with a woman he has already shot (yeah...hilarious right). Definitely something u wanna have on V-Day if ur spending that time alone or just enjoying great, energetic music. And as all their projects are, this one is totally free. Black Girls Do Rock!!

Oh man, wow. Let me first start it off like that! It's been almost a decade since the gorgeous Res released her debut album "How I Do" back in 2001. The leading singles to her debut album, "Golden Boyz" & "They Say Vision", were unlike any sound being made at the time (a part of it due to an early Santi White's, a.k.a. Santigold, co-song writing and production). Undoubtedly she was a woman with her own direction in the industry. Review from fans and critics alike were stellar, in Rolling Stone Magazine's review of "How I Do" they state "

thing: It provides an original direction. It's an album born from multicultural influences for those who don't let the trends dictate what they wear and don't let MTV decide what they listen to." But the world wasn't ready for her, Res was the first of her kind, the first in Black Music history, but being first isn't always a win.. "The album suffered from a combination of poor promotion and radio format identity crisis, (Res's music)Could not fit into either Urban or Rock / Pop markets". It was the first time mainstream music fans had seen a black girl with her style, unconventional, a voice filled with "soul-power", unique, emotionally direct with the edge of rock, but the finesse of soul, coupled with a look of her own; afro-punk, not dolled up but very minimal. Res was a talent to keep an eye on. Her album was an undeniable classic, but sadly she went into a considerable obscurity, aside from going on tour with Gnarles Barkley as a supportive vocalist, featuring of several Talib Kweli / Reflection Eternal tracks and joining along side Talib & Graph Nobel to form the group Idle Warship.
