It's been some years since I last spoke with you. I hope the years have treated you well. I hope your family is happy and as beautiful as the day we first met. I hope the surprises of life remained in your favor. I hope the ones you lost along the way are smiling upon you. I hope the land you walk on is as fertile as our minds were when we were still youthful. I'm so happy to see you again.
I started this blog when I was in college, broke (still broke) and heartbroken (never quite healed the same) betrayed by friends, family and lovers. For a moment this was my outlet, because the world around me didn't love me like I once thought it did. I was creating something I could be proud of, something that reflected the perfectly imperfect mind I take with me everywhere I go. It didn't take long for me to slowly stop updating this blog, My world started to shift, I met new and better friends, and fell in and out of love with much better women, I chased a dream, and when things didn't pan out I lost myself. I drank the pain away, and when I couldn't feel the pain I drank until I could feel more pain.
I made a lot of money, I blew a lot of money. I was blessed with great opportunities, the majority I let pass me by. I found companionship in the most perfect dog for me, and I had to put her down not too long ago due to arthritis and Lyme disease. I lost my grandpa, an uncle and other cousins, some due to the pandemic, some to life.
But, I survived, and if you're reading this you survived.
I'm currently in the office at my cubicle at a job I'm absolutely terrible at, I also have an amazing side gig with the NFL, in fact I just got back in town from tech training in Miami a few days ago. And some of those better friends that I mentioned, well we're working on a cannabis dispensary... (crowd sounds shocked and confused) Yea, when I first started this blog I never smoked before, or touch anything weed related.
Things have changed, some for the better, nothing is ever perfect. But, I'm still here, still thinking about you. And maybe one day I will add more to this entry. I love you.
